For aeons, people have made delicious bread leavened (lifted) with the very yeasts that are present on the grains as they grow in the fields. These yeasts are lying dormant in dry flour just waiting for a bit of wet and warmth to get them going.
All these breads are made using these natural yeasts – the notable characteristics of these breads is a distinct tangy flavour and very good keeping – many people feel the flavour continues to develop and improve after baking.
Seeded Oryza (600g)
Ingredients: Rice flour, potato flour, buckwheat, cornflour, maize flour, soya flour, coconut flour, tapioca (manioc) flour, ground almond, linseed, sunflower seed, salt, water and sunflower oil.
This yeast and gluten free loaf is raised using a rice sourdough. As well as being nutritious, tasty and toastable, as all good bread should be, it keeps pretty well in the bread tin too.
White Sourdough (800g)
Ingredients: Organic stoneground strong white flour, organic sea salt, water and time.
A French style bread with large lazy holes, a tangy flavour and good ‘chew’. Great with unsalted butter, fabulous as toast!
Spelt & Wheat Sourdough (800g)
Ingredients: Organic stoneground strong white flour, organic stoneground spelt flour, organic sea salt, water and time.

100% Sourdough Rye (600g)
Ingredients: Organic stoneground rye flour, organic cracked rye, organic sea salt, water and time.
This dense but juicy loaf has oodles of flavour and is traditionally served with continental cheeses and salamis. It’s also recommended toasted and topped with a poached egg.
Pain de Campagne 800g
Ingredients: Stoneground organic white flour, stoneground organic wholemeal flour, organic salt, water.
Naturally leavened but without the sour of a sourdough, this country style rustic bread has flavour and chew. A fantastically versatile bread, this will see you proud for toasting with jam or making the centrepiece of a supper with friends. Nothing could be better for mopping up the juices of a flavoursome casserole!
